Cedar Sinai Park’s Annual Report
Cedar Sinai Park is a senior living and care facility in Portland, OR. Each year they send an annual report to thousands of people detailing the years’ financials, thanking a copious number of donors, and telling stories that honor past and present residents.
The design of the magazine is different every year – the design parameters were to use their brand colors, typeface, and provided photography – the rest was up to me. I LOVE projects like this! Since 2021 was…not fun…I wanted to bring some fun and energy into the design. Energy was achieved with thick, wavy lines and the fun came through with circles of images that look like bubbles floating through the pages. A light stone texture was also used throughout in header and callout treatments to create a soft contrast to the stark white of the page. Legibility played a large role in the text size and overlapping color to make sure the magazine was accessible for folks of all ranges and abilities.
